Fo Bugler - Photographer

I am at my happiest when engrossed behind the lens, enthralled in nature, or buzzing with the visual excitement and activity at an event.

Born in London to an Irish family, I was brought up in both London and Ireland. I have also lived in France and across the West Country. As well as studying at Dartington College of Arts from 89-92 specialising in photography and printmaking whilst raising two wonderful children, the three of us have since settled in Dorset where I have had a rewarding career as a teacher. Travel is a personal passion, and I love to capture the myriad of different cultures and landscapes that I have been lucky enough to experience.

My personal work is focused on capturing fleeting moments or glimpses of life that often go unnoticed. I love to photograph what I cannot paint, paint what I cannot photograph and sometimes mix the two disciplines together. I like to use photography as a starting point for artwork with a more unusual and unique end result. I favour abstract, ICM, multiple exposures and other digital artistry. My work has been sold privately and through exhibitions, and I have work in collections around the world.

The type of commission work I do now specialises in events, festivals, and wellbeing retreats. I also have considerable experience with maternity and newborn, engagement and weddings, product photography, and promotional shoots for musicians and actors.

When choosing a photographer, it is useful to understand their approach. I prefer to capture natural, candid moments as I feel they are truer to life. When capturing people, street photography and documentary images, I like them to be more real and evocative than posed shots.
